Roller Skater

Andrew Wallace has explained: ‘With Roller Skater I wanted to make  a sculpture that would be positive and dynamic, and reflect the youth and vitality of an urban street. I wanted to create a tension between implied movement and a sense of stillness and calm. I wanted the female figure to convey independence and “attitude”.’ (see Terry Cavanagh,  Public Sculpture of Kensington and Chelsea with Westminster South-West, Watford, 2023, pp. 463-64)
