The Tuckshop Tanner

Commissioned by the Friends of Archbishop’s Park and the London Borough of Lambeth, this life-sized sculpture symbolises human kindness. It stands on the former site of the Tuck Shop used by children attending Archbishop Temple School. The Tuck Shop was run by Lizzie Lambert who is said to have given the pupils a sixpence on their birthdays until the school closed in 1974. The sculpture has the relief of a sixpence on its belly which can be rubbed for good luck.

Location: Archbishop's Park, Lambeth, London SE1
