A fascinating book that draws much-needed attention to the best public sculpture and monuments in these two north-western counties.  The artworks included are mostly in urban areas; however, some are tucked away on moors and fell tops are less familar. This book highlights the brilliant work of local sculptors, including a number of women, who have been neglected over the years and overshadowed by the dominance of practitioners from London.
