Stephen Broadbent (b. 1962)

Sculptor born in Wroughton, Wiltshire. Broadbent was educated at Bluecoat School, Liverpool, and trained as an apprentice with Arthur Dooley, 1979–83. His work developed from limited edition bronze sculptures into larger public commissions, including Reconciliation (three casts unveiled simultaneously, 19 September 1990, in Liverpool, Glasgow and Belfast); Celebration of Chester, Chester (1992); The Bullring, Liverpool (1999); and Encounter, Warrington (2003). His Chester-based company, Broadbent Studio, has also produced numerous water features, such as River of Life, Warrington (1996) and Seasons, Manchester (2002).
