Ipswich architect and author of Suffolk Churches and Their Treasures (London, 1938, and later editions) and Norfolk Churches (Ipswich, 1949). After working in London, he returned to Ipswich in 1901. He was Diocesan surveyor for St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, designing the new library in Ipswich in 1924 and banks for Lloyds in Norwich and King’s Lynn in 1928.
