London architect. He designed the Albany Building in Liverpool, 1856–58, and Ashwicke Hall in Marshfield, Gloucestershire, in 1857–60. He restored St Withburga, in Holkham, Norfolk (for Juliana, Countess of Leicester) in 1869; St Peter’s Church, in Spexhall, Suffolk, in 1870; and St Dyonysius, Kelmarsh, in Northampton, in 1874. One of his most successful designs was St Paul’s, Hooton, Cheshire (1858–60). He carried out a number of commissions for the Kerrison family in Suffolk, including the Monument to Sir Edward Kerrison in Eye in 1888. He was also a talented watercolour artist who published a number of books on Gothic ornament and foliage.
