Architect and surveyor, born in Hoxton, Hackney. His key buildings include: Ipswich Post Office (1880–81); St Matthew’s Church, Bayswater (1881–82); the Jubilee Clock Tower, Brighton (1888); Leyton Town Hall and Technical Institute (1895–96); and the Coronation Clock Tower, Surbiton (1904–08). He was a member of the Architectural Association from 1863 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1881.
