Billy Teasdale (b. 1978)

Born in Jerusalem, Israel, he was educated in South Africa and Orkney and, after studying craft in Norway, graduated from the Department of Sculpture and Environmental Art, Glasgow School of Art (GSA), in 2004. He has worked as an assistant to the former head of department David Harding, and fellow GSA graduates Kenny Hunter, Henry Coombes, and David Shrigley, with whom he collaborated, along with Alan Stanners, on the exhibition ‘Unfinished Plan for a New and Better Society’ (Glasgow, 2009). His commissions include a medal commemorating the painter Stephen Campbell, and in 2014 he was artist in residence at the Dixon’s Blazes Industrial Estate, Glasgow.
